The leaves and temperature have already fallen, but that doesn’t mean
your lawn care should end for the year! Prepare your lawn for true
luster come spring with these fall landscaping tips!
• Aerate your yard so that the water and nutrients in the compressed
soil can reach the roots.
• Planting new shrubs in fall allows their root systems to establish
early, and your bushes to flourish come spring.
• Cut back perennials, and trim dead branches from small trees
and shrubs.
• Apply a high-phosphorus fertilizer to lawns now so that grass
comes in fuller and greener in spring.
• Don’t forget to mow one last time; your curb appeal will increase,
and you reduce the risk of fungal disease.
PI CK TH E PERFECT PA IN T CO LO R
There are so many options! How do you pick the perfect paint color for every
room in your house? Combine preference and palette with these easy tips.
• Consider the décor: trust us, it is much easier to find a paint color to
match the furniture and fixtures, rather than the other way around.
• Go with the flow: paint colors can unify spaces or separate them
dramatically. Your colors should work in harmony — consider how
your chosen color will match your entire homes feel and look.
• Consult the color wheel: shades that exist next to each other on the
color wheel tend to partner better and create a more casual and
relaxing dynamic for interior spaces.
• Don’t forget the lighting: the way in which a room is lit can have a
tremendous impact on how a particular paint color will look on the
wall. Consider how a color will look at all times of day, and whether
you want a cooling effect (darker hues) or a warming effect
(lighter and brighter).

WATERING
POTTING
A general rule of thumb is to try and water your
plants relative to their natural environments. But
you do not want your plant to ever sit in water —
that will cause root rot! Also keep in mind your
plant’s preference of humidity.
Larger plants need larger containers and smaller
plants need smaller containers. When plants
outgrow their containers, it is time to upgrade
to a larger pot.
SUNLIGHT
PRUNING
Trimming and pruning is sometimes necessary to
help maintain the shape of your houseplants. It’s

also an easy way to keep your plant healthy.
FEEDING
DUSTING
Dusting helps the leaves absorb more sunlight.
Wash smaller plants gently and wipe larger ones
with a damp cloth.
When it comes to soil, most indoor plants do fine
with an all purpose mix. Adding plant food can
help ensure your plants health by providing the
soil with nutrients that in turn, feed your plants.

MAINTENANCE
• Start safely: be sure to read the owner’s manual and follow proper safety protocol.
• With a cool engine, lay the mower on its side and clear the undercarriage of debris.
• Carefully remove the blades and take to your local hardware store for a sharpening.
• Safely drain last year’s oil from the tank and replace with fresh oil to the designated level.
• Periodically check the hardware and tighten with a hand wrench if needed.
• Store in a covered space with as little moisture as possible.
